Once in a blue moon, a movie emerges from Bollywood that really grabs your attention. This is one of those few movies.
It is true that part of the story is borrowed from a Hollywood movie. I wouldn't name it as it would spoil the stories for those readers who haven't seen the movie yet.
But going by Indian standards, this movie is truly fantastic. The acting by Ajay Devgan and Akshay Khanna are simply amazing.
The music is pleasant to the ears, especially the title song ''Deewangee...''
I especially appreciated the way the plot is built, and the way the suspense and attention of the audience is maintained. Often, Bollywood movies tend to start off very well, and somewhere towards the end, they really botch up a nice story. Humraaz is one such example. Deewangee, however, is another story altogether.
At some stages, during the movie, I could sense the story coming close to a collapse, to a total botch-up job, but no, it is handled very well, right till the end.
Urmila's performance is average, she could have done much better. But maybe the role she played was not well ''exposed'' in the story :-) All puns intended.
Overall, this is a nice star in Bollywood's chain of flop movies.
