“Its all about Imagination….”
It is indeed true, how man’s imagination makes him genius and takes him way a ahead were his 6th Sense wouldn’t take him. Hollywood filmmakers use this to the right aspect, but too much of a overdose does makes it bore and dull. So before going ahead with my review on Deep Impact, I had a small Interview with one of the Hollywood’s Houston based NASA scientist and would like to present you with the excerpts of that.
Review World (RW) : Houston Calling !! This is Asyis here calling from the “Review World” can you hear me!
NASA’s Houston Centre (NHC) : Asyis copy! We can hear you…proceed…
RW : Houston, I am about to write a review on one of the space movie made by Hollywood, Deep Impact, before that I would like to ask some questions which I had in my mind and your ideas on these kind of Space mission movies.
NHC : Asyis, you can proceed.
RW : What is the main ingredient of all your Space Mission movies ?
NHC Simple !!!
Make a bunch of guys & gals with tie and spectacle in front of a huge television monitor with one bald, leader who is in charge along with some equal number of computers and with headphones. Call that as your Houston Base.
Make President of America gives 3 heart-warming speeches.
a. One before the start of the mission
b. One during the first phase of the mission’s failure
c. And last when the mission succeeds.
Get 5 to 6 people to travel far away in the space and dig a hole in the space and put missiles and nuclear bombs.
Tell these guys, to mess things up in the first instance and report that to, Houston. Then make these bunch of guys in Houston to react with agony, pain and sadness.
When the mission is achieved, again tell this Houston guys to clap hands and show the sign of victory.
Show some bizarre mechanism which looks like a digging machine.
Take one Russian Astronaut(Cosmonaut) as a crew member.

Sorry, guys there are some movies in Hollywood which are so slow and not all entertaining, had to do some stunts myself. So here what Deep Impact has to offer…
D E E P I M P A C T
Plot…
Deep Impact is a story about a comet which losses its path and is about to strike earth which would wipe out everything on Earth.
Now ! Now ! don’t get worried, our Earth’s only saviors, America’s President (Morgan Freeman) along with NASA is going to blast the comet with the Nuclear Bomb, which has to be dug around 100ft on the comet’s surface and which has to be done before sun rises on the comet’s surface.
So a crew is sent with Nuclear Missiles to the comet’s surface, but as usual the first stint has to fail and the Nuclear Missile is dug but during that time, sun rises on the comet and the temperature increases. So they loose of their crewmember.
Now, the other members take off from the comet and on time blast the Nuclear Missile but …again something goes wrong, the blast bursts, the comet in to 2 pieces with smaller piece to be striking first. (What an Idea!!)
Mean time they loose contact with the space crew and Houston think they have lost the crewmembers. Now, its for sure no one can save the Earth, Hence MR President tells the people of USA that all countries including USA has made a shell, kind of Cave where select 1million people along with selected animals, birds, trees and plants will survive for 2years. Because the impact of the comet may have the atmosphere of the Earth dusty with gases and not suitable for leaving.
So, people are randomly selected based on their Social Security number are being sent to the cave. But by that time, the first piece of Comet Strikes Earth and goes firing into the ocean creating waves more than 100ft (La Abyss) wiping the entire coastal areas of USA right from NY, Philadelphia and some other cities.
Now, the suspense breaks , Our crew members who are still carrying some Nuclear Missiles, think that instead of going back and living a life of hell, they take a step of becoming the human bomb and plan to strike the comet with the ship. And then
Kaaaaaa…BoooOOooooooooM…..
They save the earth and the comet is destroyed.
Now as usual Mr. President gives a speech (Not again!) in front of the half-destroyed White House.
That’s the end of the movie. Overall the movie was really very slow with lots of unwanted character like some FBI investigation going and then the End was very blant without any spice. Technically this movie didn’t have much to offer just for the beautiful big waves lashing the cities.
Acting was okay nothing much to offer just the same old reactions of Sadness, Agony, Happiness. The idea of the movie was good but definitely could have given more out of it.

I hope Hollywood really start thinking more on the space mission movies and not just picking characters and making a movie.
Overall, watch Discovery Channel than watching Deep Impact.
