I have been going to this hospital since past 3 years now. Only for 1 reason - my kids pediatrician who is a very good doctor is attached this hospital. If that hadn't been the case I would never visit this hospital. Below are the reasons:
Pathetic facilities. Poot toilets. Rude staff. Such a big hospital didn't have parking. People had to park there vehicles on the road and at times 2-3 kms away from the hospital and walk all the way. Imagine that when you have a sick child who cant walk. The security in front of the gate dont allow your vehicle to stay more than few seconds and shout very rudely. Only recently did they get a parking which is in a very shabby state. OPD patients have to park at 2nd basement level and have to walk all the way up through the ramp! The parking is very dirty and doesn't have proper lighting.
Following instances were observed in the pediatric ward. Not sure if the same applies to other dpts.
I had a instance wherein I took my kid for emergency and the junior doctor asked the on duty nurse to give am injection to my kid. The nurse refused! Said she wasn't confident!
In another instance I saw 2 junior doctors shouting at each other. "Tum kyon nahin attend karti patient ko. Saare din ghoomto rehti ho. Koi kaam nahin karti"Junior doctors are not competent. They are never to be found when needed.
Also would also like to mention that the OPD is the most poorly managed I have ever seen. Most of the doctors scheduled for OPD either dont come or come dissapear in between. Patients pay the fee, wait for 1-2 to hours and are then asked to take a refund. My wife goes to this OPD as this is very near our home and she can manage very easily. This has happened several times. Recently happened with a doctor named Dhananjay Kelkar. After showing his face he dissappeared for a 'meeting'. Patients were told to take a refund and go back. I feel the OPD is full of incompetent and worthless doctors. Sahyadri, a hospital not very far from this hospital is much better.
