Manil Suri is a good author, and is aware about how to keep his reader's attention. But it fails repeatedly as you move on. He has depicted the Indian essence within the book, effectively and efficiently.
I defer with chicku3's views. I did not find the book worth the money I bought it for. And definitely not worth the hype created around it.
I am a great fan of Indian Authors, and frankly I have read better one's.
The plot revolves around a drunkard and no-gooder Vishnu, and how the society around him reacts to his pathetic situation. At times, Vishnu goes into a trance and recollects his past, the time when he was young, the time when he was seeing a prostitute....
