I have recently used the services of Data Movers and Packers to shift my household goods from New Delhi to Kolkata, with a pathetic service experience. I found out their contact details online and ended up with them, much to my frustration and wanted to share this with the consumer community so that future users are safeguarded from the non-professional and fraudulent practices by this business.
They a double-bed mattress, which was acknowledged by their representatives, but till date there is no further update.
The labor charges for the unloading of goods at Kolkata were taken from my relatives(in addition to the agreed upon cost). It has been since promised by their Delhi office that the money will be deposited in our account, which did not happen even after countless calls and formal email complaints.
Finally, I was extremely disappointed by the sheer callousness of their Kolkata representatives. My relatives were asked to go to the go-down and make advance balance payments at the warehouse near Dunlop in Kolkata, and were dealt with in a very rude and harsh manner. The loading of the goods on the truck did not happen before they paid the balance amount. Additionally, the labor charges were taken from us - which is promised to be refunded. I have done many shiftings before with other movers and packers and not in a single occasion was the amount needed to be paid by person at the go-down.
Also, initially they told me that the stated charges are inclusive of taxes, and later on stated that taxes are extra. While everyone knows service taxes need to be paid, this was a deliberate misstatement by their sales contact, Mr. Bharat Singh, to misdirect me in the sales cycle.
Bottom line - you will get a lower quote than other movers, but do not go for them if you are looking for a smooth service and peace of mind. There is no focus on the basic service or customer needs.
