This post is ’weird’ - you’d probably expect one to express his/her thoughts on the entire album - I am not going to do so.
Song #1 - Mukundha Mukundha
I had an instant liking
to this song the moment I first listened to it. Its so slow, smooth on the ears, calms down the mind and is so easy to listen. The words are nice too & I dont find any issue with the Thamizh prounciation of the singer - as far as I am concerned, this song is fantastic.
These thoughts hold on only till I watch the movie.
Song #2 - Kallai Mattum Kandal
When I listened to this first, I was truly not much impressed. Oh-Oh Sanam was more catchy than this; however, when I saw the situation in the movie for this song - I was stumped. I felt speechless to say the least; awesome picturization, fantastic situation song would be a gross understatement. The lyrics kept lingering in my mind - may be because of my peculiar situation in the Shiva v/s Vishnu comparison [My name is Narayan, relating me to Lord Vishnu; while I am an Iyer or a Shiva-follower, relating me to Lord Shiva=> that is my peculiar situation]
I also liked the Shaanthagaram Shloka that Kamal says when the soldiers try to break into the Vishnu aalayam & was wondering if it should have been included into the Audio release.
Other songs - I feel I would be unable to recollect the other songs in a few more weeks/months time. To me they appear forgettable; however, there might be others who love them too.
