An Amazing Attempt. Review on Dasavatharam Movie

I watched this movie yesterday and all I can say is a big "Wow". I have gone through many websites and have read many reviews about this movie and now after watching the movie, I wonder whats wrong with these people? As some one mentioned earlier, our movies will never reach the destination of being a world class and being recognized by interantional audience untill our people change their mentality of enjoying the usual crap movies in the name of entertainment.

some may like only one actor and for them what might come from the rest of the world will always be worthless. Its real shame on us to have such jokers with us. The reason why I am trying to point this out is, I am a huge movie lover! I search and try to get hold of very good movies starting from 1920s till date and I have a huge personal DVD collection. Whether a performer is an american, english, french, hindi, malayalam or tamil is not my concern but I see and appreciate their efforts. So my list of favourite stars is an endless one.

Now speaking about "Dasavatharam", the plot is very simple. A scientist tries to save the world! How he does it? How he escapes from the bad guy? and how many people he comes across during the process is the movie. I am not going to be elobrate beyond these lines, because this is a movie that need to be seen rather than being heard.

Ok, now why do we need a 12th century introduction? This is a very good question, for which the answer is really a tricky one and it depends on the way one might take in. This plot equally balances the existance and non-existance of the ultimate supreme power which we follow through different religions. At the end, the answer is some thing which we will have to decide. This is just amazing piece of scripting style. If one decides its all science the climax will satisfy him/her, or if some one thinks its all curse and its the act of god for which we get punished for a crime committed by an individual ages back, trust me the climax will suite them too.

I really do not want to get in to acting part as we know this movie comes from one of the movie genius and he has delivered the fans of what is expected out of him with out any overdose.

Offcourse the make-up is bit let down for few characters. I was really taken by surprise why could Kamal be so miserable despite all his efforts. The make up for the Kalifullah Khan did no justice and even for Bush character, a little more care and effort should have been taken.

Honestly I am not so thrilled by BG music for a movie like this. Could have been better. The songs are ok and gels well with the flow of the movie without any unneccessary duets.

As far as the graphics are concerned, we need to realize the fact that we are still lacking the international standards by 20-30 years(This includes direction, camera work, stunts, music and technical efforts) We cannot blame any one for this because we do not have a world market for our movies and we are just trying to reach there. So please do not compare the graphics of this movie with Hollywood flicks which usually have a production budget starting from 150 million dollars plus and Dasavatharam is hardly a 30 million dollar project,  which is huge here. This is just a beginning, so better appreciate the effort.

Dialouges can be enjoyed only by a very few as in case of Mumbai Express.

My humble request. Go watch the movie with family and sure you will not be dissapointed for the money you spend.
