There are times when it is important to remember that the word chicken is not just a icon to the indian but a bird too! It survived years of sacrosanct hounding by the "purists" and surprisingly the little bird held its ground against daunting odds to which many a bull, cow and pig were sacrificed all in the name of impure edibles! So much so that today the slightest mention non veg khana sends many a mothers scurrying to unpack their prime broilers and peel carefully packaged white flesh' for their little puttars! So next time you decide to call someone 'chicken' as an invective.think again! its stronger than you think.

Let me quickly eulogise the Tawa chicken. Often beaten down by big brother butter chicken this fantastical preparation finds itself in sanctuary at Darvesh. Located on the main ghantaghar subzi mandi road bang next to Amba cinema near the North Campus, in delhi this is by far the best Tawa chicken available!
The joint is not much and operates out of a 20*10 feet niche in the wall! what you get there is the thingy! They serve all the regular meat dishes including butter chicken.but here the rule of the tawa is unmistakble. Standing over a large tawa, is a burly pehelwan who doesnt seem to have changed much since the time I used to visit this place
The tawa chicken is cooked with a beautiful rich creamy gravy and lots of butter! so bye bye thinnies! keep away! its for the rich food you ned to go here, and trust me when I say its one of a kind.a little shady but great for a takeway.my wife loves it and she is my barometer for good non veg khanna! so eat and rejoice and lemme know if u lkiked it!
