Pink Floyd, in my opinion can be classed as one of the true pioneers not only of rock but of music in general. They should be put in the same category as the all time greats such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who etc... And this can be called one of the greatest slow rock albums ever. And it is undoubtedly the best of Pink Floyd. I have often felt that this album is underrated when compared with The Wall. Although The Wall is a decent album, it comes nowhere near to the magnificance of DSoTM.

This album instead of being a collection of a few songs is more like a continuation of one long symphony. Its amazing the way the songs fall in with each other while crying out to the various aspects of day to day life such as money, time, war, greed etc...

I used to be a huge Pink Floyd fan a few years ago before getting converted to a heavy metal and progressive rock/metal listener. And this used to be one of my favourites. This can also be called one of the earliest examples of a truly concept based album. Sure The Beatles had done it before, and a few others. But DSoTM is in a league above them all.

The band consists of Roger Waters, David Gilmore, Richard Wright and Nick Mason and I think these guys have done a very good job of making this album one of the best in many fields, may it be psychedelic rock, classic rock, soft rock or simply a conceptual album.

There's not much to say about the vocals, the guitars, the drums or the lyrics except that its Pink Floyd at their best and that means something really superb. Roger Waters

  1. Speak To Me/Breathe

The first is a decent instrumental beginning to the album while the latter is a nice song with great https://lyrics. Combined together it is a piece not to be missed.

Ratings : 10/10

  1. On The Run

The way this comparatively fast instrumental blends with the previous track is really worth hearing.

Ratings 8.5/10

  1. Time

Extremely good vocals with some interesting https://lyrics. One of my favourites of the band, though by no means one of their best.

Ratings : 10/10

  1. The Great Gig In The Sky

Nice instrumental with female background vocals.

Ratings : 9/10

  1. Money

Probably the best song of the album. One of the bands most famous as well. It has a nice rhythm to it. Nice https://lyrics.

Ratings : 10/10

  1. Us And Them

Another really good song. It has some really memorable moments in it.

Ratings : 10/10

  1. Any Colour You Like

Another instrumental. Not the best but not bad either.

Ratings : 8.5/10

  1. Brain Damage

Probably has the best bit of singing in the album. In my opinion, that is. Nice lyrics again.

Ratings : 9.5/10

  1. Eclipse

Its a bit boring but fades the album to its end quite well. Again, it bears the trademark sound of DSoTM. So, no complains.

Ratings : 8/10

I guess this might just be one of the top ten albums which has received the most number of positive reviews. Anyone who can hear the music without any sort of prejudice towards the genre in his mind should be able to appreciate it. I felt this way 3 years ago and I still do, even after becoming a huge Iron Maiden fanatic who is used to fast and furious guitar riffs/solos and drum beats which throw you out of the world, I still find Pink Floyd's DSoTM quite enjoyable and most certainly I prefer this to The Wall.
