If you are searching for the best tourist destination of West Bengal it is surely Darjeeling. Easy to reach, good food, scenic beauty of The Himalayas are making it the most visited tourist attraction for the bengalis. I spent a full week there. Giving you my tour plan-
Day 1- 21: 00 hrs Kolkata station. Set in for NJP.
Day 2- Reach NJP 9: 00 hrs. Car to Darjeeling ( personal/share) . Reach Darjeeling 12 noon. Check in. Spend evening time in Mall.
Day 3- Early morning Tiger hill, Ghoom monastery, Batasia loop. Return hotel, get breakfast. Darjeeling 7 points sightseeing at afternoon.
Day 4- Excursion to Mirik. Mirik lake, Pashupati market, Nepal border. Lunch and return to Darjeeling.
Day 5- Start for Kalimpong via Lamahatta. Reach Kalimpong at noon. Check in. Kalimpong sightseeing at afternoon.
Day 6- Excursion to Rishyap then Lava. Return hotel at evening.
Day 7- set in for NJP from Kalimpong. From NJP train to Sealdah.
Its a nice place but at summer time huge number of tourists make it congested. Hotels ask for higher rental, water shortage becomes acute.
During winter it is too cold. But some prefer this season.
There are some cheat tour agents. Beware of them.
