Since an early age I have always been a passionate traveller. I had the opportunity of visiting almost all the popular tourist places in India, so now I am looking for places which are not popular but which are undiscovered by tourists. Last year I found a place and I visited there. The name of the place is Darap village and it's located in west sikkim. It's one of the few places which is undiscovered by tourists. It's called Darap village because the word darap is originated from a limbo word which means plain or even land. This place is located 8kms from Pelling on the way to Khecheopelriand Yuksam. In this area the people mostly belongs to the Limboo community , there are also people who belongs to community like chettris, tamangs etc. About the place I can say that it has a landscape which is gently sloped as compared to any other location in the west of Sikkim. Darap is one of the potential destination for village tourism because it is close to Pelling. There are a few tourists location to visit here, like you have the200 years old Limboo traditional house. Its a traditional house which has solid mud floors and has been passed down from generations of Nepali Limboo. Its basically a village which showcases the Limboo culture and traditions. So it's definately a nice place for passionate traveller's but if you are looking for a travel destination with full of fun and entertainment then this is definately not a place for you.
