DANGAL:- GOOD ATTEMPT AT SHOWING THE STORY OF A CHAMPION FAMILY

To be honest, excitement for this movie was at its extreme peak since beginning. Given the fact that I knew about the achievements of Phogats, it was about knowing the hardships they faced all through their life.

Dangal is not only a movie about the Phogat family, it revolves around many important issues like child marriage, forcing the child to fulfill your unfinished dream, arrogance, disrespecting parents& realizing it later, poor mentality of the people, rigid behaviour towards certain decisions etc.

As expected, the movie is a combination of all kinds of emotions:- Love, Hate, Comedy, Nervousness, Excitement etc.

Dangal is a story of how Mahavir Singh Phogat makes his daughters terrific wrestlers who can win Gold Medals for India by strict training.

When your aim is fixed& glimpses of achieving it are seen, constant dedication& efforts leads to goals. The Phogat family needs to be saluted for the manner in which they came out triumphant from hindrances to make the country proud.

Story is inspiring& screenplay is brilliant. Direction is great& dialogues are really good. Editing& cinematography go with the flow. But the choreography of wrestling matches is one of the finest I have ever seen, brilliant work there. Commentary is such that it teaches us how wrestling is played& how the point scoring is done.

Music is really good& timing of songs are perfect which is a rarity in today's time. Naina& Gilehriyan are melodious gems whereas Haanikarak Bapu& Dhaakad have terrific https://lyrics.

Zaira Wasim as young Geeta is nice, her attitude is terrific. Suhani Bhatnagar as young Babita is a Champion, her expressions& acting is top class. Fatima Sana Shaikh as the elder Geeta is good whereas Sanya Malhotra is elder Babita has very little to do& provides a good support overall. Sakshi Tanwar has little to do but her eyes speak a lot. Rest of the cast also provides good support. Aamir Khan has once again lived up to his reputation& given a terrific performance, some of his expressions, dialogue delivery& persona were fabulous.

"Mein tujhe ladai karna sikha sakta hun, par ladna to tujhe hi hai" How true is this!

Wonder why cinematic liberties were taken when the story was so nicely presented! Had it been biopic of Cricket, guess they wouldn't have dared to change the scoreline of the match! The twist in the climax was also too exaggerated& uncalled for.

All in all, Dangal is a really good movie which shows how inspiring the Phogat family is:- At one point we hate Mahavir, at one another point, we hate Geeta, but in the end, we love& Salute them both. I will rate it 4/5.

PS:- It's a bitter reality that more people will clap for Geeta winning the Gold Medal in the movie than in real. This is where we lack as far as winning in Sports is concerned. Babita also won Gold, Vinesh is a fine talent& can win big for India, Ritu is developing& winning at National level already. Thank you Phogat family, you are an inspiration to all of us.
