To beat the Delhi heat, I thought of a one day trip to a place nearby Delhi. Visiting a lake was my option. I searched online and I decided to visit the Damdama lake, as its reviews were good with pictures giving a good sight of the place. I along with some of my friends started the trip the next morning. It was a 2 hour drive form West Delhi. We had to travel through many villages and small roads to reach here.
On reaching the place it changed the perspective of what I saw online. The lake was full of cattle and filth. The water level was quite low. Area surrounding the lake was full of filth and cattle dungs. Boating was there, but we wondered how could someone do boating here in this surrounding. We stood there for just 2 minutes and returned back as we couldn't bear the sight we saw. Whole day was wasted. A local there advised us to visit this lake during Monsoon season when water level in the lake is significantly more with clean and cool surrounding.
There is a Guest House serviced by Haryana Tourism. I guess visiting this lake during monsoon would be more convenient.
