I bought 3 Daikin ACs when the Coolex was held in Chandigarh a few months ago. The ACs were booked by Mr. Shubham, head of retail sales of Chandigarh Daikin. He passed on the bookings to M/s Ambika Enterprises in Panchkula, and after a couple of calls to them they delivered my ACs. The installation cost was included in the price and I told them that I would get them installed in a few days as my building was under construction.


About 2 months ago I called up Ambika Enterprises to get these ACs installed. Since then it has been a constant chase with Ambika Enterprises employees(Mr Rakesh and their Accounts Deptt), or their third party vendor Mr Verma. Turns out that they have a 3rd party contractor named Verma who does the installation for them. First he would not come when promised. Then, when he came, he said I would have to pay for the installation. After many painful calls and on showing my receipt to Ambika Enterprises, they agreed that installation was included. Then they refused to do nitrogen flushing, which Mr Shubham(from Daikin) had categorically told me that it was included. After a few calls to Mr Shubham and Ambika, this was resolved.


One fine day Verma came and installed 2 out of 3 ACs. When the pressure was tested I found that the gas pressure of one of the ACs was low. I pointed out to him and he said we should watch the cooling and then see. When we checked the cooling, only 1 AC was cooling properly and the second one was not. Verma said he would fill up the gas in the second. As for the third AC, he only started installing it after another 15-20 days. Then he left the nitrogen in the AC and said that he would come and check the pressure after 24 hours and activate the AC if all was ok. 2 weeks have passed since then. Verma has not come despite several calls to him, and the 3rd AC installation is incomplete.


So, in more than 2 months, the Daikin dealer has been unable to install 3 split ACs. They have all sorts of excuses but my job is not being done. Maybe they want the warranty period to lapse in this? Unfortunately, I already have 10 Daikin ACs, and was happy with their performance, which made me buy these. I also had to purchase 16 tonnes of commercial air conditioning, for which I was considering Daikin. Fortunately I chose Bluestar instead, and have never been happier. They know what customer service is, while Daikin is so taken up by their success in India that they don't care two hoots about the customers.


I called up the toll free number o register a complaint today. The guy just gave me a phone number to call and said he could not register a complaint as his system was out of order! That's Daikin service for you.
