When I remodeled our home, due to a number of new HVAC code issues in Florida, it appeared that a multi-port system would be a good solution for my complete house conditioning.   Overall the product performed well during it's initial year in service.


But when it failed, due to the control board and the EEV(electronic expansion valve) controller, it's been inoperable going on over two months.   None of the local installers have the knowledge to debug these complex systems.


They depend on Daikin tech support over the phone giving them instructions which they removed all the refrigerant several times based on these instructions.  Part numbers for replacement parts are not available until a Daikin tech allows it to be given out to the local HVAC tech.  Daikin tech doesn't care that the consumer is footing the billing to train local HVAC techs how to debug the system.   Nor can you contact anyone at Daikin with authority to get your problem solved.  They are completely shielded from customers and that is how this billion dollar company operates.  I'm in this over$1, 500.00 in repair and my system will not operate either AC or Heat.


4-25-16 Update:  System finally operating(crossed fingers!). Total Labor costs were$2, 022.00  Yet another leak test found one evaporator failed only after year and half service(placed in service date 3-11-14).   Daikin to date has only offered to send a service tech to see if the unit is operating.  Please spend the money on an extended warranty with labor included if you purchase Daikin products!   Daikin letter to Florida Dept of Ag and Consumer Services.   "Daikin prides itself on being a customer-oriented company."  I've never spoke to a direct Daikin technical or regional sales manager. they completely shield themselves from actual "customers".  The one appointment that I was told would happen, the Daikin guy went to a trade show instead. You only get to speak to your local HVAC guy that reps Daikin or their "consumers" affairs department.   That's the extent of their "customer-oriented" relationship.
