I am a hair fanatic and I am not ashamed to admit it. My closet is overflowing with hair products that were duds or semi-worked for me. Currently I made a challenge for myself that I should finish at least of half of the stuff in my possession and not buy anything new until I do. But enough of that. I first heard of this product via a hair care board. I read so many positive reviews but dragged my feet on purchasing it.
Even a Malaysian girl in my class uses it and her hair is pretty good. So finally after four years I purchased it. When I finally got the product I thought the bottle I thought the bottle was cute but looked weird as all get out. It look like something I would find in a nursery school. But let that slide. The oil was solid, but I know it is because it is made from natural coconut oil and I appreciate that. So I ran it under some warm water to loosen it up. Finally I squeezed it out (BTW it is a pain in the rear to puncture open.
I had to ruin a good pair of hair shears to open it and I am mad at myself for that) and the oils had an interesting smell. Not bad but not the greatest. Fortunately it is a light smell that doesn't clash with my perfume or body chemistry. I have used this product for over 3 months on wet and dry hair and I like the results better on wet hair. The reason why is that when I apply it on dry hair, it seems to slide off my hair. But when I apply it on wet hair, it seems to stay on a little bit longer.
I love the shine this product give me without the use of serums, which contains silicones, which isn't beneficial for the hair in the long run. Silicone tends to build up and a lot of silicones are not water soluble. Sometimes I can get heavy handed with this oil so I just don't apply anymore until it slides off my hair. The only con about this product is that over time, it does dry out my hair, but coconut oil in general does that to my hair. So I alternate with other natural oils. So I would definitely recommend this to my best friend, if she didn't have sensitive skin. And this is my summer oil of choice.
