DaMilano - Poor Quality Bags

I bought this brown office bag from the Delhi airport outlet of DaMilano about a month or so ago for 8000/-


Within a day or two, I saw that the leather was scuffing at certain corners. Wasn’t happy about it.


In about two weeks, the zipper handle just came off while I was closing the bag after a client meeting. Not the best of times to be seen as someone who subscribes to poor standards.


Shortly after, the inner lining has started tearing. This was not the stitch giving way - but the fabric tearing near the stitching - evidently, the lining has no strength or is brittle.


All this from a product with a LIFETIME warranty! The bag was falling apart in a month.


Since I am from Bangalore and they have no outlet/repair option there, I decided to wait for my next trip to Delhi to fix it.


Yesterday I took it to the DaMilano shop in South Ex(Delhi). While the attendant there was polite, he said it’d take about 7 days to fix it. I can’t hang about Delhi for seven days for a fix!


My bigger worry is problems such as the inner lining tearing is not something you fix. You may fix one area, but the fabric is going to give way elsewhere. It is the same weak fabric. How many times am I going to come to Delhi to repair this bag?


I told them I want to return the bag. Which, not surprisingly, was not an option - ’against company policy’. And a replacement was also not an option - only that they’ll repair it.


The store said they’ll try to repair the bag by Friday(three days from now) .


Remains to be seen what they’ll turn up with. Either way, at the moment, I am very unhappy with the quality of their bags and the service.


If someone at DaMilano knew customer service, for any such shortcoming on a premium product, they’d replace the product immediately and apologize for the inconvenience - instead of beating around company policy and shooing me away as a customer permanently and losing any other person as a customer who’s willing to listen to me.
