I am writing this review for the help of those who wanted to take a DTH Connection. Unless your local cable channel is not so useless, please do not opt for a DTH connection, especially, SUN DTH!
I was quite happy with my local cable channel, recently they have hiked their subscription, so I opted for SUN Direct Connection which was the only cheapest DTH connection available. But now realized that the performance is also cheapest!
In their advt they claim Set Top Box with recording facility. But I have been cheated by providing a normal STB without recording.
The dealer told me that presently STB with recording is not available and would be replaced as soon as the stock arrives. But nothing happened. I made lot of complaints, nobody cares! Because, that is their customer Care! Now they wanted me to pay an up-gradation charge of Rs 700 extra for STB with recording facility. The signal is always disturbed. Picture display breaks frequently. Even if some service representative visits your house for repairing, you will be charged with Rs 150/- as service charge where most of the cable service representative resolve your complaints free of charge.
I would like to write some cons of DTH service, since pros are almost nothing other than comparison of subscription with your local cable operator.
Cons:
DTH Connection cost is more than a cable connection
Remote and centralized Customer Service is nothing better than a local guy.
Delayed complaint resolve(at lease 42 hrs). Cable guy resolve within an hour of your call.
No free Service after three moths. Cable guy do it free for you any time.
Any equipment replacement/repair will be charged. All most all cable operators replaces STB and remotes free of cost.
No refund of initial charges, if you want to return back your connection, where a cable guy returns you the negligible security deposit taken.
So still you do not want to opt for a cable connection, please opt for anything other than SUN DTH! Best of luck.
