Where are mainly two types of Internet provider first one is DSL service provider and the second one is cable modem service provider.
The advantages of DSL service provider is that you can use Internet as well as phone line at the same time but in the cable internet service provider, you cannot do the same but the main reason is that cable service provider is often cheaper than the DSL service provider, cable modem service provider is not available in remote areas but DSL and In Delhi MTNL is available in all areas but Cable modem is not.
The main difference is that in DSL you will have phone to call but in Cable you will get cheaper rates.
