I subscribed for DNA in mid-March 2006. I got the booklet with 12 prepaid coupons for just Rs 199/- was happy subscribing to this daily as I feel it covers many segments. There were a couple of other newpapers offering yearly subscriptions for a lesser annual fee but I opted for DNA.

The first two months were good. I used to get my copy of DNA delivered at my door steps along with Times Of India & Mumbai Mirror. By the third month I realized that the news in all the three newpapers was pretty much the same infact DNA had much more to give.
If something was missed by DNA it was in the other papers which would automatically find a place in the next days copy of DNA. In short DNA provided me with sufficient news that I did not have the need to pick a different newspaper. Having attained Nirvana I asked my local paperwala to stop TOI & MM & just deliver DNA from the third month.
This is when the trouble started. My local paperwala started acting smart. He gave me two offers :
1] Either I purchase some other Newspaper along with DNA.
2] I give him the complete booklet of my DNA prepaid coupons to him in advance.
As far as ordering some other newspaper was concerned I was not ready for it. And giving the booklet was out of question. Even the booklet says that the coupon is to be signed & only then to be given after receving 30 copies or at the end of the month.
On denial the local paperwala stopped bringing my DNA copy saying that by taking coupons they dont get a good renumeration from DNA & so he does not get to earn anything if I dont buy someother newpaper.
In the meantime I tried getting hold of other paperwalas but no one obliged as I had prepaid coupons.

This pissed me off & I compalined on the the DNA site.
November 2006
After almost four to five months on November 13, 2006, I get a call from Prashant Desai- calls from the number 022-3980 2200 from Mahape Office of DNA. He acknowledges receiving my complain & enquires a bit more & says he will revet back. Within half an hour he calls back to confirm my address & assures that he has informed the person looking after the circulation in my area & that my copy will be deliver to me regularly.
On asking the name of the person handling circulation he has no idea but assures me that my problem will be taken care of. Infact he advises me not to hand over the complete booklet or even a single coupon in advance.

No one has contacted me as yet. My copy of DNA is not delivered to me. My subscription coupon has gone waste.
I advise all the readers to instead pay a bit more & ensure that you get your copy than get carried away buit such prepaid offers & waste money as well as get pain in the neck dealing with uneducated, ill-mannered paperwalas.
