Look elsewhere for planning your travel!. Review on D. Paul's Travels, Delhi

This is one company which can turn a travel into a travail!

My sincere advice to anyone thinking of booking their travel with them - please avoid at all costs!

We went to Thailand recently on a tour organized by Dpauls, and the trip was a disaster and horror of horrors! The only thing they are good at is taking your money in advance, and for that they will send their collecting agent anywhere and everywhere. Once you have paid up, then onward you are at the mercy of Almighty.

Their trip was badly planned and executed, in fact it is only a method of burning a whole in your pocket in a foreign country. The local tour guide who met us at Bangkok was rude to the point of being insolent, and spoke to us as if we were beggars asking for alms. The hotels they gave us were horrible, and if you search the net you can easily book a better deal for half the price.(We were given a small hotel called Central Place at Pattaya and White Orchid in Bangkok)

None of the hotels they made us stay at had good amenities, Even for basic things like hot water for bathing you had to beg the hotel staff. The furniture and fittings were comparable to 'sarais' and 'dharamshalas' in India. One of the hotels (CP) had such small rooms that there was no place to unpack the suitcase except for the bed. Another (WO) had equally small rooms and that too without any windows! The toilets were dirty and filthy. The carpets, linen and mattresses smelled of fungus.

It was clear that Dpauls had sold us cheap backpackers hotels for a hefty commission. We were so disgusted with the quality of hotels that on days of our stay in Bangkok we decided to leave the hotel provided by them and checked into another far better hotel in a much better place and surroundings. Of course we never got any refund from Dpauls or the other hotel.

The sightseeing trips that were offered with the package were equally bad. In fact they were carefully planned by the operators so that you were left with no other option than to shell out money or else just sit around and do nothing. The so called 'free' trips were hardly free and our group realized this so well that no one, actually no one, went for their city tour of Bangkok.

Dpauls is a company without a conscience, and this trait is reflected in the kind of hotels, restaurants and activities that are offered by them to the customers. It doesn't take long for people to realize this in todays age and such a company can only lose out on customers and goodwill in the long run. I have decided never to get any bookings done through Dpauls again, and if asked for advice, I would tell others to do the same.
