Are you from delh and missing the delhi food here in mumbai? Or have you simply studied in delhi like me and miss the punjabi taste in your food, then Crystal is just the place for you. All the more if you are just a student in the city. Its great value for money above everything else.
You could easily pass the place without noticing it. Its got a tiny entrance, not very prominent but believe me, the people who love that place can probably show you the location even if you blindfold them! I was ushered in by a friend during my early days in the city. I was, at that time, missing Delhi a lot! Crystal just did the wonders for me.
If you are planning to go there, you better hurry up and not go during the peak hours. If its dinner you are looking at, then I suggest you start getting ready by 7 and be there by 7:30-8 in the evening. Because the rush can certainly put off. the witing time can extend from 15 minutes to an hour. Believe me, the line extends to quite a distance. And I m not kidding! Crystal would easily win the most popular award among students and young professionals...or am I offending the older ones?? no way..Crysat is for everyone!!
You walk in to an old table and rickety chairs but you don't care. You can only smell the yum food awaiting you. You look at the now typed out menu card. But do you really need to look at the menu if you are one of the people who come here often enough to know whats best on your finger tips...no you don't! The menu is for people who are first timers to the place. Order the butter roti's, the dal makhni and one vegetable of your choice and you are set for dinner. Even the Bhaingan ka bharta tastes like heaven in this place. That is very surprisingly coming from a person who has always sneered at the vegetable at home for as long as I remember.
After the lip smacking meal, you simply can't forgo the desert. Thats one of their best. Take a choice between fruit cream and yummy kheer. Both of them are simply the best you have ever tasted. Just thinking of them right makes me droll!!
after the happy meal, you are in for yet another surprise! The Bill. It is a convinient price to pay, be it for people who are working or students who want to catch up a quick dinner date with an old friend or your long time girl friend. You can't take your new girl friends there. Sorry...for people who have just started dating someone new should take them out to fancier places. Because, the food's great, the prices too but this place is not fancy, specially during the summer.
The music is always the same. In fact, I believe it has always been the same. the old hindi numbers that take you along with them to the old era. Its a place that will go down in history as one of those unforgetable places just like the music it plays, it will always hold a special place in everyone's hearts.
