The restaurant is right on the main road and is easy to locate - between Hotel Park Sheraton and Kaliappa Hospital on Chamiers Road. Finding parking space can be tough, the hotel does provide "valet parking" though. One can expect some waiting time, after giving the name, to be seated.
The place appears to have been converted from a residence to a restaurant - so you would find a few rooms that actually have been converted into dining rooms. As is the norm in Chennai, the tables are quite close by with not too much space. The restaurant is packed(I am told that there is no break in the afternoon between lunch and dinner; quite a few places close down after 3:30 pm or so and open for dinner by 7:00 pm. Apparently not so, in this case). This place serves only vegetarian food and the specialty is sizzlers. No South Indian items here.
Once seated at the table, after the order for starters was placed, we had to ask for napkins before being given the same! And food arrives after an inordinate delay between placing the order and actually being served. We waited 15 minutes to get a table, 15 minutes to be served the starters and another half an hour for the main course. The food is tasty though - we had sizzlers for main course and tomato soup for starters - the soup had a distinct Mediterannean flavour. The channa batura was good as well. After the delay in having the main course, we skipped the dessert - choice of desserts is limited. We ended up spending two hours in the restaurant for lunch. The restaurant adds 10% service charge as a part of the tab. The waiters did not recommend any particular item on the menu nor could they serve food fast - not sure if the kitchen is able to keep pace with the flow of orders.
One can go here for good vegetarian food if one does not mind the waiting time and bad service in average ambience. Food is pricey.
