Craftsvilla has a tag line. “ The Marketplace to discover India” I think this tag line goes perfectly with the site, because it has huge range of Indian products & almost all the products are made keeping in mind the Indian craft & culture. The products give traditional classical touch, emphasizing on ancient designs & looks.
The products are categorized into different segments like Jewellery, Handbags, Home Décor, Clothing, Food & Health, Footwear etc., each further divided into sub segments.
Though the site is quite user friendly. Its very easy to browse the products as they go, but if one changes the default option from price low to high, or high to low, not all products get arranged in proper sequence. Then if you return back to last page, the products get arranged according to default setting, so that was little annoying & time consuming.
Finally I added some earrings & handbags i.e clutches to my cart for my sister & proceeded to checkout. I used my debit card for the payment. My order was confirmed on Tuesday & immediately I got a confirmation mail from their side. But mail included only the name of the products, not the images. Now this actually proved to be quite troubleshooting fo me, which I will tell you how. Anyways, I received my 1st parcel of Jewellery on Friday.
I got this white plastic box wrapped with cello tape from all sides. I opened it & got a beautiful surprise inside. All sets of earrings were amazingly beautiful & in perfect condition. Since I never shopped with Craftsvilla before, so was not expecting too much, but was really surprised on receiving the parcel. Also I got a thank you card, with a letter of appreciation from Craftsvilla thanking me & also informing me that they have enclosed a gift for me. This was another surprise, but soon after this I got a shock since there was no gift.
Anyways, I went ahead to check the bill & other things. Everything was ok but I could not find the cost of the earrings separately, since there were no codes or name on the earrings. So I thought of checking the earrings name from the site, but could not find a single earring on the site, which I ordered. So this was little problematic, so I called their customer care. The girl told me since there products are out of stock, these are not showing on the site, but she sent me a mail with the product name & images. I even asked her about the gift, to which she replied that they forgot to add the gift & apologized for the same. Then today I received my 2nd order from Craftsvilla, i.e. Handbags. The quality of the clutches was not as good as that of earrings but still good according to the price.
Coming to the conclusion, I would say Craftsvilla is an amazing Indian site to buy Indian things including jewellery, handicrafts, bags etc. The quality of the products is good, delivery time is ok. Like I got both the parcels within a week of ordering. But yes they should definitely work upon their site a little more, making it more user friendly. Also include product images in the confirmation mail. & should not remove the item from the site on being out of stock. Otherwise Craftsvilla.com is a nice online shopping site in India & I will def shop from it in future.
