We decided to try Cox and Kings for the Nepal Trip, since we heard that they had been awarded for being very good in the travel industry. Unfortunately we did not go through the reviews. If we had, we would have saved ourselves from the misery.
They will charge you extra for everything else which is worth seeing and is not in the itinerary. The Manager will take you to only such places where they have a tie up, be it if it’s for shopping or for eating. They will charge you exorbitant rates for substandard service and product.
The only thing worth seeing is the Himalayan Range Flying. But it is not included in the tour. You have to shell out Rs 6500 per person. We checked out at a travel agency and the market rate was Rs 5000. The manager was charging 1500 rs per person just for the ride to the airport. Since you are at a foreign locale you shell out the higher charge since we do not have any other contacts. It’s the same scene at the river rafting. This is really exciting, but again we have to pay ourselves.
They will take you to only temples. They did take us to a cave, but only half way and to a water fall where the water was all dried up. No guides were provided and we had to pay extra for the guides.
All in all a very disappointing and miserable experience
