It is very important to think if we really need a goods or service when we buy a product. Remember, mostly advertised products are either new or products which are not selling well.
Advertisements make you buy what you don't require. Country club membership is one such good example.
They charge a bomb for their membership and the sales guy promise you whatever he thinks like to get you as a member. They just change their contact number once you take membership.
I am associated with a law firm and I helped more than 50 clients get their money back, with interest. You will be surprised, if I say, country club has dedicated lawyers in each city to fight for these kind of case.
So then why do country club do this? Why don't they do clean business? Answer is very simple. They need capital, which they cannot raise without mortgaging. They cannot raise fund from public.
Out of 100 members, only few people who claim back. Court order for a simple interest, which is very cheap for them.
