Story:

This is a wonderful novel about a betrayed sailor who seeks vengeance on the enemies that were responsible for putting him in prison to die. The book takes place in a century where ships, carriages and sword fights were abundant, letting the reader escape to another world. The plot is very cleverly written and is a pleasure to read. The author does an amazing job of letting the reader identify with the characters in the novel. Particularly, the main character is displayed as a truly remarkable man that anyone would envy. The reader really gets a sense of this man's grandeur and power. The novel is filled with evil schemes and secrets with many new and innovative ideas that keep the readers amazed and on their toes. The novel is lengthy but well worth the read. Make sure you leave room in your schedule for this one, because once you start getting into the book, you might not be able to put it down.

There are two versions of the novel. The original version is approximately 1000 pages long, while the abridged version is around 500 pages. I recommend that you read the full version of the novel to get the full experience. I originally read the abridged version and was disappointed to find out that I had missed out on many important aspects of the novel.

Definitely at the top of my list!
