The otherwise decent cafe franchise is marred by a series of poorly trained staff, it happens to share a trend among all the outlets of Costa I have visited..
The branch at koramangala 4th block takes the prize for the "Worst and most arrogant cashier" ever. I patiently waited in a line of not more than 2 people and when it was my turn to place an order, the guy at the counter casually picks someone at a random from the queue behind me and begins to take their order while completely ignoring me. Not to let something like that annoy me, I again patiently waited for him to finish after what should seem like about 2 mins goes on to become 10 minutes because of the many goof-ups faced by the obviously poorly trained lad.
After finally being done with the person's order, he again goes on to show his arrogance by picking another person at random and this struck my nerve and I ended up giving a piece of my mind and stormed out of the cafe with my better half. We had enough of the arrogance of a person working the cash-registers. The CCD next to the same branch might not have the appeal or ambiance that Costa provides but the amazing service provided by the ever-so friendly staff based on "first come first serve" will always be rewarded with a returning customer in me.
Unfortunately the Costa in Garuda Mall seems to be littered in the same mess. But instead of the cashier being a jerk, they served our food over an hour late and couldn't get their card machine to work. It is clear that the franchise owners give more importance to their ambiance and less, that of training their staff in the importance of serving customers needs.
Needless to say, I would never visit another Costa neither at an airport nor in the middle of a desert.
