A better public sector bank. Review on Corporation Bank

I have an account with Corporation Bank for the last 5 months and I think I have taken the right decision to open an account with them.

I have my own reasons to think like that but the others may have their own opinion. 5 months ago, I urgently needed to open a bank account, as I am a temporary employee at my organization and they don't open in my name. They only give crossed cheques.

Private banks are ruled out, as they have large amount of minimum balance and some hidden charges for small customers like me. So I first went to SBI, but the manager there behaved like he is doing me a favour and told me to come next week. Then I went to Andhra bank, there I was told that they will not give the ATM card for the next 2 months; and I asked why. He replied that Application forms for ATM cards are insufficient. I wonder.

Then, I went to the CorporationBank there too the staff are almost the same, but the manager is very good. He spent time for me and helped me in opening the account and that too on a saturday afternoon. They have sent me my InternationalDebit card in two weeks even though they don't have many ATMs like SBI or ICICI bank. The service is good, and no false information at ATMs, like SBI. Infact the ambience is comparable to private banks with Good surroundings and clean and neat interiors.

Pros : Ambience, Less customers

Cons: Lower level staff are unfriendly.
