I have always loved experimenting and what better way to do it, than in your own kitchen. It started with sandwiches, burnt little fingers, from the oven direct into the garbage bin...to mouth-watering pizzas, scrumptious pastas, unbelievable desserts(my capsicum halwa still manages to reward me with incredulous expressions).
One of my closest companions in my search for new delicious recipes is the internet. One of my favourite sites is http://www.cooks.com.
http://www.cooks.com has been a very fulfilling website. It has a database of a million recipes. Majority of the recipes are contributed by people so the database is ever-growing. It has the best search engine for all kinds of recipes and you can even search by ingredient. For example, I searched for noodles and it gave me 5300+ results. Some of the best features of the site are the unit calculator , nutritional facts on any item u can possibly remember and a diet calculator which I m sure most of us will find useful ;) .
There is no major need to become a member as u can access all of this without membership. Only if u want to comment or add a recipe in the forum, u will need to become a member. I didnt feel the need as u r granted read-only access as a guest in the forum which I feel is sufficient. The layout of the site is also very clear and one won't have any difficulty navigating the site.
The only negative point I can find about the site is that it does not categorise recipes as indian, mexican, etc. All-in-all its one of the best sites I have come across and is a must-try for all food lovers.
p.s. Try the noodle cheese omelet. Its simply heaven!
