The secret of winning is to keep trying. This applies very well to contests@win.com. To win on this site, one needs a lot of luck in addition to efforts. The lucky ones win handsomely on this site, though I am yet to come across such a lucky one that has won a big prize.
This is one of my favorite sites. I have so far won four T-shirts, one shirt, an ashtray and a windcheater on this site in the last 2 years and do not know whether to classify myself as lucky or unlucky.
This site is lightning fast. Navigation is very easy with various links neatly arranged on the right side of the screen. Updates are regular (very frequent). There are various ways of winning on this site.
1) Contests: One can participate in the contests sponsored by various companies like Britannia, Colgate etc. Each contestant gets a hundred points just for participation in each contest (some consolation even if one does not win a prize), in addition to a possibility of winning the prizes from the sponsors, which are selected by lucky draw out of the eligible contestants who would have crossed the threshold. One normally sees a new contest once in 3-4 days on an average. The contests are designed well to meet the requirement (advertisement or survey) of the advertiser. However, it is pertinent to know that a macromedia flash or shockwave plug-in needs to have been installed on the contestant’s machine to be able to enter into most of the contests.
2) Polls2win: Each respondent gets 100 points for participating in the survey with just one question. Lucky ones stand to win a T-shirt daily. This section is updated daily and can alone contribute 18000+ points per redemption cycle (explained in detail below).
3) Opinions2win: This section has a particular statement or incident (mostly humorous), which is in the news on that day. Each participant has to offer their opinion on the subject and gets rewarded 100 points for participating. Lucky ones stand to win a T-shirt daily. This section is updated daily and can alone contribute 18000+ points per redemption cycle (explained in detail below).
4) Trade2win: An online stock market simulation game, where each participant gets notional Rs.1 million to invest out of a list of traded securities. A participant with the highest net worth at the end of each fortnight gets 1 share of Infosys Technologies as the prize. Each participant gets 100 points per fortnight if they participate in this game during that fortnight. Hence, 1200 points can be won per redemption cycle.
5) Buddies2win: This is the referral section of contests2win. Each valid referral that registers on this site would fetch 300 points to the person who refers.
6) Goodies2win: This is the redemption section of contests2win where a minimum of 7500 points are needed before a member can redeem their points. There are various prizes that can be redeemed. There are two redemption cycles in an year. One is from February 16th to August 15th. The second is from August 16th to February 15th. Unutilised points expire at the end of the redemption cycle.
7) Swap Shop: For members who feel lucky, they can participate in lucky draws with their points and stand to win grand prizes like DVD player, Bose speakers etc.
Just adding up the points from Poll2win, Opinions2win and Trade2win can fetch a minimum of 37,200 points per redemption cycle. Add one referral per redemption cycle, and we are talking of one windcheater worth 37,500 points per redemption cycle.
Prizes apart, just the participation in contests by itself are great fun.
