So this is about Compaq Presario, hmm what can I say? I guess I am one more satisfied customer. I have been using the Presario 7500 for the last 5 years. I am not a gaming freak and so I dont need to have all that unwanted power in the CPU so the only upgrades that I have gone for in the last 5 years is an additional 128mb RAM in addition to the 64mb card that came with the computer and a samsung cd writer. I am the kinds who would rather stick with a not-so-obsolete configuration than to soup it up with power n speed.Also other than the cd writer all the parts in my PC are from compaq. As all electronics do, my PC has also given me problems at times, but this is where the advantage of buying a branded PC becomes obvious-the excellent customer care service. I think the after sales service of compaq/HP beats all not only in computers but in most other appliances.I have not seen a more prompt service. You place a call in the morning and the engineer is at your place by evening. To top it, if you are ready to buy the extended warranty-carepaq, you dont have to pay a rupee from your pocket. COmpaq has replaced a number of components in my PC over the last 5 years ranging from the motherboard, the hard disk to the cd drive floppy drive etc etc all this for no extra charge and you get all the genuine parts.I think thats a big plus.
Another thing that deserves a mention is the sound card, ESS Allegro alongwith the JBL pro powered speakers produces amazing sound which no assembled PC can match.
then ofcourse the monitor's resolution is quite good and brighter than other monitors.
Presently I am not thinking of going for a new PC as this one suffices my need but if I plan to buy a new one in the future it will definitely be either HP or Compaq.
The PLUS points I think are:-
1)GOOD SERVICE-Most Important.
2)Good quality parts.
3)Excellent performance.
Although this particular model has been phased out by compaq HP now, but there are new more attractive ones that available in the market waiting to be bought.
