Note: This review is about a the Compaq Presario 7360, it's faults, and Compaq's horrible customers service.

Why Did You Buy This Piece Of Dookie Computer Anyway Princess?

Purchased in January of 1999, for the simple fact that it was cheap ($600 USD), and with 64 megs of ram and 10 gigs of storage, I felt that it had adequate storage for me. At least I thought so at the time...2,000 mp3s later I was forced to buy a cd writer. $600 didn't get me the whole shebang though, I had to buy a monitor separately, as it wasn't included in the deal.

So, What's The Beef With Computer?

My Compaq has given me nothing but problems from the very beginning. No sooner than I got it home, my troubles had begun. I hooked her up, and vola'...nothing but a scrambled screen.

Customer Service, Don't Tell Me They Were Bad Too!

I immediatly proceeded to call the so-called Compaq help line, and was put on hold first thing. After 30 minutes of waiting and being transfered to ''someone who could help me better'' several times, I was connected to my computer ''savior''. Only a few problems here. His dialect was very strong and hard to understand, and I wasn't mad about that. I tried my best to communicate with him, but he became rude and began rushing me. I felt as though I was treated as an idiot. After about another 30 minutes worth of hassle, the problem was finally fixed. I was never actually informed of what the problem was, only given instructions on what to do.

Princess, Has This Happened More Than Once?

I've jumped though the same hoops about 5 different times since that day, never being told the root of the problem, only being given hurried and hard to understand instructions to fix the problem, then quickly brushed off.

The computer itself is very unstable, crashes atleast once a day now, with no explaination. I don't have any viruses, and I have what I feel to be a great security program. I keep maintaince up on my computer, and while I don't know a whole lot about computers, I do know enough to assure myself that I'm not doing anything wrong.

Princess, Did You Ever Stop To Thing That Maybe You Just Got One Of The Bad Ones?...Maybe Everyone Else Has Had Good Experiences With Compaq?

That would great if that were the case, for Compaq and it's millions of customers anyway. The fact is that I know of 6 others, close friends and family, that have bought Compaqs and had similar problems to mine, even with the rude and rushed customer service. One friend of mine has been waiting four months for someone from Compaq to come and fix her computer just so she can get online!

So What Does The Princess Recommend One Should Do In Their Quest For A Personal Computer?

I would not recommend anyone to buy a Compaq, not even my worst enemy. Hahaha, well...maybe. But honestly people, I've heard from too many that Gateway is the way to go. They are known for their wonderful customer service. HPs are also a highly praised brand. Whatever you do friends, stay away from Compaq. I didn't spend such a massive chunk of money for a lemon of a computer, nor to be treated as dummy by their customer service, well, actually I guess I did, but I didn't want to!
