My partner and I bought identical laptops in Aug 2004. In a couple of weeks, my partner's laptop packed up and needed a change of motherboard. Later the modem stopped working and he was told that since the modem is mounted on the board, it needs changing again.
On 29 Aug 2005, my laptop too packed up and luckily since we were in Delhi then, HP changed the motherboard. It packed up again within a week. I approached the Service Centre in Pune to repair it under warranty since the motherboard had failed so soon after change. They refused. I tried to contact HP but with difficulty we got through and they promised to look into it. My partner gave his laptop to be ched and now the battery does not hold charge at all.
I have lodged a complaint on the HP web site, but the complaint has not even been acknowledged.
I wrote a letter to the Managing Director of HP India and have not even got an acknowledgement of my letter.
Its now over two months and the laptop has not been repaired.
