This was my first and last experience with Compaq. I purchase Compaq Presario CQ60-104TU
Back in 2009 december.
This was my first laptop purchase and I was looking for a good brand with ok features. my friend recommended compaq to me. am regret to have made this decision and through his recommendation bought a compaq laptop.
The laptop was sparingly used since after two months of purchasing laptop I had shift my job where I got company laptop.
This laptop was opened maybe to count of 10 or 15 times and not more than that.
If you look at my laptop you will think I have purchased it last week. I mean it looks brand new.
Well last month I switched it on and I got windows error message and was asking for repair CD.
i switched it off thinking I will run repair in my free time however to my shock when I switched it on after a week I didn't get any display at all
I wrote emails to HP however since it was out of warranty they redirected me to Intarvo solutions. intarvo solutions checked it with a different RAM however still no display. they informed that motherboard has gone bad and will need replacement for the same
and since its out of warranty I will have to pay it through my pocket.
my first reaction was :O I mean seriously does compaq make laptops which can be used only 10 or 15 times and then motherboard needs replacement.
a cheap chinese laptop will run more and be more efficient than compaq.
my personal recommendation NEVER EVER go for compaq. Infact HP itself
they make inferior quality products and try to compete with brands like Sony, IBM and Dell
seriously I got back and put my laptop in a dumster
am going for either IBM or Sony
My company gave me IBM and its been two years its performing like a champ.
I've never had complaints with the same. even dell for that matter.
Some of my colleagues have Dell and they never had complaints.
However you want to hear more.
My company purchase 30 HP laptops for senior management out of which 22 came out to be defective. they all had to be returned and finally Dell was ordered.
So that makes it two worst horrible witness of what HP and Compaq are.
If there's a rating in - I would want to rate them - infinity
For those of you who's compaq and hp is running kindly ensure you get extended warranty on the same otherwise be ready anytime to pay from your pocket.
