THE MOST COMMON SEXUAL PROBLEM

-

    THE ATTITUDE OF THE SOCIETY

-

Sorry guys, but this review is not going to be an adult talk, but rather I just want to have a talk on this matter I consider to be one of the most unanswerable in the relationship of the two genders. 'Why does this society of ours have to be so sceptical to the friendships between boys and girls?' I don't know if this is the right section to put the review, nor if this is the right way to go about the topic.

So guys; PLEASE read the review and give me your valuable comment. O.k.?

My life- Class XI

-

I was standing in the corridor of our school. It was a lunch break. I was talking to one of my friends, a girl by the way . Just talking. No flirting. No body contact. Not even a handshake. On that crowded spot outside our classroom.

Then one boy comes to us and says the vice principal wants to see us.

*'Why are you two standing outside and talking? Don't you know that is against the rules of the school? I know this is silly. But I am helpless.

I have to warn you that if the principal catches you two talking, you might just end up with a suspension'

FOR WHAT? Talking to a girl, a friend of mine ** . What if she is a girl? She is my friend and I respect her as any of my other friends. I still don't know how this kind of a non-written rule exists in a mixed school.

You guys may not believe this, but this happened in my life. I was the laughing stock of the school. I just hated the school after that.

My life- Class X

-

The most important year in the school life for most of us. The year we just die to get good marks in all the subjects. I was a very good student that year scoring almost a 100 percent in all the subjects and specially biology till the finals. For the finals we had a chapter on human body and this topic.(sshhh!  Here, it is a crime to speak out the word) we had almost a month to go and the teacher announced that the portions have been finished.

'But teacher, there is this one more chapter on the topic that cannot be said aloud'

'Yes, you have to study that chapter for yourself. Its not to be taught in class.'

'Don't worry children, just learn all the terms by heart.'

Yes, she had the easy way out, but our marks suffered.

This, my friends in the state of affairs in our part of the country of India. Just because men and women are made biologically different, does it matter in the case of friendship? I don't know. I have had many friends among girls, and have always felt that a girl made a better friend than a boy. They were always there for me, and were always ready to listen to me. There are many girls who have told me that they had their best friends form among boys.

But the society, including you and me, think differently. If a boy and a girl are having a walk on the beach road enjoying each other's company, then they are having a date. Or they are in love. Right?

Talking of love, that is also very much forbidden in my state. Well! Forbidden might not be the correct word, as there are many gulf countries were the real meaning of the word comes into effect. There was once a shocking real life article in the Reader's digest that a girl was stabbed to death by her own father for loving a man. That is not the state of affairs here. The most likely thing that will happen will be the son or daughter will be thrown out of the family, or forced into an arranged marriage.

The concern of the society has nothing to do with the welfare of the teenage or the youth. There have been couples in our school who were in the habit of going to films and doing all kinds of naughty stuff. The teachers knew about that and they didn't even want to talk to them. All they are concerned about is that no boy should even talk to a girl in their presence.

Guys, is this kind of a banning of friendship just based on the difference of gender justified? The youth of our modern world know much better than to waste their life completely on a girl or boy. The girls also know their limits. Then why is this society so concerned that a boy talking to a girl will lead to complications?

What is happening is that the society is do bend is limiting the relationship between the two that the mutual respect that has to be developed in the early stages of life is replaced by a curiosity for the other gender. I went form a very good mixed school to the one were things are like I mentioned above.

In my first school, we were a family . There was not much of a difference between boys and girls. We respected each other for what we were. Although some of the friendships bloomed into love, the love was strictly built on the foundation of friendship so that hey knew that it was good for each other to keep their limits.

But in my second school, the only relationship there was either of curiosity or an affair. The boys in my batch were only interested in the beauty of the girls, and only wanted to get them for themselves. The girls only wanted the guys to be around them teasing their teasing their sexuality a little, like they enjoyed being hunted by a pair of wolves.

I wrote on the topic in pain because I ran into a lot of trouble with a girl in college a few days back. We were very good friends, but I didn't know that though she knew me for a year, she did still not trust our friendship. She was always looking for the 'other'   meaning of what I said to her, and I got beaten up by her boyfriend for no fault of mine.

Most of us here on mouthshut are of the younger generation and the rest are very understanding and wise people of the older generation. We are to decide what the future of the topic is going to be like. We are to decide if we can have friends among girls.

* CAN THERE BE FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN BOYS AND GIRLS? OR SHOULD THE SOCIETY BAN THE TWO FROM TALKING?

GUYS AND GIRLS; I DO HOPE YOU GUYS WILL LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS SECTION. *

Based on experiences from my life. Please don?t take it as silly.
