A comedy show which started with lots of fanfare. It was first production work by Kapil Sharma. He also rose to fame through this show.
He is the main character of the show which also have asgar Ali, sumona, kiku and Sunil Grover playing major roles.Navjot Singh Sidhu is an added attraction. When it started it over took all other t.v shows in its TRP ratings.
Remember at that time' kaun banega crorepati was also running'. The best thing about the show was its freshness. It was very humorous and supported by some superb acting. Kapil made many fans. We would wait for the show ever weekend and would not stop laughing through out the show.The family was humorous the neighbours were humorous and the star guests made the show the best. Indian television never had a better comedy show.
What we got in the name of comedy was shows like comedy circus, which was only a circus without any comedy.It often crossed that thin line between humour and vulgarity.And required some brave heart to tolerate Archana puran Singh. Comedy nights came as breath of fresh air amidst all the stupidity. It eventually became the best t.v show.But then it began to stagnate.
There was too much of repetition and it no longer tickled our humour bone.One thing that was never in good humour was Kapil s pulling the legs of audience at times to extend of humiliating them.Who would like to be embarrassed in national t.v? Why is no one smart enough to reply Kapil is present there? Are the audience paid actors? Kapil should think fresh. Add new characters. Time leap did not help. If it continues this way, very soon it will lose all its charm. Come on Kapil, we loved your show but once upon a time.
