This review is about Dr. Anitha Rao in Columbia Asia hospital is one of the best gynecologists .
She is very friendly and willing to patiently answer all our questions. Me being a VLSI designer myself and will follow process - so I always come-up with the list of questions to her and she takes each and every question patiently.
It's Amazing how we are always in a comfort zone and in good frame of mind just after visiting her:-)
When we went to see her during 3rd month - the first impression was "Looks Professional" and after 6 months now my wife delivered baby I can confidently say she looks and also "Behaves professionally"
As far as I know she can talk Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, English(of course she might know Hindi etc)
which makes it easier for communication) for example my mom can't speak English and can still
clarity her doubts.
Clear Communication Skills:-
As with every expecting parents - we were asking questions related to pushing for normal delivery
as apposed to C-section.
Dr Clearly told us to pray "Healthy Baby .Healthy Baby" Instead of
"Normal Delivery.Normal Delivery" with a smile on her face.
Which makes sense because nobody(even Doc) can't give a guarantee that it won't be C-section as it
depends on multiple factors at that last minute.
During the check-ups - after she though-roughly checks my wife - she always comes back with if everything is fine and what are the follow up checks( scans/ blood.etc) needs to be done and gives a oral summary to me and my wife on what's in her mind and future course of action.
Availability:-
Dr.Anitha Rao is easily approachable anytime. In general we will have more questions as we we approach towards 8(or) 9th month and we don't necessarily want to wait until our next check-up and
she takes our calls over mobile and gives solutions over phone itself which is a big relief.
While attention in detail when we are inside the consulting room is very good. We need to wait for a while to get inside as she consults other patients as though roughly as you like to do for yourself:)
Nothing comes for free. I bet it's worth a while.
As the time progressed I started taking the first appointment which avoided this scenario.
Smile:-
She almost always has a smile on her face - Let me re-phrase that she always has a smile on her face.which is very important for a doctor - especially when we are going through lots of fears in pregnancy time.etc( expecting a baby is a continuous process of being on your toes)
Imagine a case where you complaint a pain and doctor keep a strict face( like some of the
very very senior docs) and says - "you have to bear" Versus Dr.Anitha Rao's Classic style of giving a
BIG smile( most of the case - no words followed - sometimes- "it's ok - normal":)
Comforting a mom-to-be and dad-to-be with a clear answers of what is okay and what are we
supposed to watch out for itself is great.
Labor:-
Labor is a special moment for dad-to-be.
Dr.Anitha Rao allowed me to be inside the delivery room when my wife was delivering.
Which is good for me( of course it's a personal choice) as I feel there is no point in getting tensed outside the room when you have a choice to be inside( remember only spouse has a choice - you and only you have that option) and me being next to my wife will be a HUGE morale boost for my wife and she did normal delivery.
Even during the labor room when my baby is delivering Dr.Anitha Rao was very calm and composed( as opposed I heard stories from my friends that doctors scolding.etc patients to co-operate during labor)
Summary:-
====
Overall it's a very pleasant experience with Dr.Anitha Rao from 3rd month to 9th month .
I would highly recommend Dr.Anitha Rao to my friends and colleagues and folks on the internet.
Happy pregnancy:)
