I had landed at this airport once, with my family but we had a bitter experience. Our journey was quite comfortable and the flight landed on time. This airport is small so the baggages reached the conveyor belt as soon as we reached the arrivals longue. But the arrivals longue did not have any good facilities for the passengers.
I was traveling with my infant son but there was no nursing station at the arrivals. Usually we have a baby care centre but here it was not there. There was no place where I could nurse the baby or change diapers. The toilet facilities were also not very good. It was not clean or well maintained.
We had reached by afternoon and were extremely hungry. There were no restaurants or cafe inside the arrivals longue. There was a small restaurant outside the longue adjacent to the airport. So we took all our luggage, walked out of the longue and headed straight to this airport hotel. Unfortunately there was nothing much to have there. There were very few number of dishes and no other choices. Since we were extremely hungry we had no choice but to have them.
At that time the express highways and all were under construction and so the roads were not very good and were extremely busy and congested.These experiences made us extremely exhausted and tired by the time we reached home.
Coimbatore is a wonderful place and thousands of passengers arrive/depart from this airport. It would be really great if the arrival longues had these basic amenities such as a nursing station and a good restaurant.
