TO RUM OR NOT TO RUM, THAT'S THE QUESTION

Hmm, Pepsi or Coke! Now, that's a tough decision. Just when I thought my life couldn't get more complicated, someone has to ask this question! Well, I guess it's better than, ''do you prefer peas or corn?''

First of all, yes, I do like Coke. In my opinion, there's nothing more refreshing than a can of Coke. (I guess here is a good place to apologize to my friends at Pepsi whom I met so long ago on a dare. To reiterate my words spoken at that time, I know this is the Pepsi generation, but COKE is STILL THE REAL THING!''

In one small can of Coca Cola I get a ZERO content of fat (that's great because that's the last thing I need.

While I don't suffer from high blood pressure, for those who do, salt is one of the last things they should have to worry about. That's makes Coke an excellent drink. It only has 50mg of sodium.

If you should find yourself, during the day, feeling like your energy level is being zapped, try drinking a can of Coke. With a total carb content of 39g and sugar content of 39g, you're sure to find some new found energy zipping through your body in no time! It's a great ''pick-me-up!''

In addition to the great taste of Coke, it mixes 100% better with Rum! Not so with Pepsi. It leaves the drink lacking in the usual zesty taste one would come to enjoy.

Another interesting feature of Coke is the heavier syrupy content than Pepsi has. This heavier syrup is great should you have an upset stomach. It helps calm the queasiness - especially should the upset be from ''over-indulgence'' the night before.

I know that you're probably saying, ''What the heck does that have to do with the taste?'' My answer is ''Absolutely nothing!'' Yet, it something to keep in mind. How many of us imbibe now and then? Don't forget, New Year's Eve parties, Birthday Parties (for those who still celebrate them), those beloved ''bachelor parties'' (now given for our children), and the Weddings that follow, etc. Yes, there are times, we get carried away - even if our intentions are aimed in the opposite direction.

As I said, This might be the Pepsi generation, but Coke is the real thing and it's great to keep in the house to: serve to company, keep for emergencies and just plain enjoy the taste of this great drink!
