Dear All,
I am writing this post to make you all aware of my terrible experience with Club Mahindra so the information is available for all and you can make informed decision.
I really feel cheated by Club Mahindra. My great experience with Mahindra XUV 500 was the reason for me to truly believe in Mahindra brand and go with this membership blindly. Apparently Mahindra Auto and Club Mahindra have different brand values.
Sales tactics used to sell the Club Mahindra Membership is really pathetic. Below are few things I have observed.
- At the time of membership, I was told there are different seasons. Based on my need, it was determined that WHITE would suit me. Also I was promised that I can make reservations in another higher season but will have to lose some days.
Promise - Reservations can be made in higher season.
Reality - I am allowed to make reservation only in my Season or below. So for me in WHITE or BLUE. Higher categories RED and PURPLE are not even open.
I called up the customer care, and I am informed that I can book in higher category only 15 days prior to the day of travel.
- At the time of membership, I was told that there are enough resorts and if we plan in advance say 3-4 weeks we should be fine. This was specific to my question of telling that I cannot make travel plans 6 months to a year in advance and I typically plan max 3-4 weeks in advance.
Promise- Planning Lead time of 3-4 weeks is good enough
Reality - Its not possible to get any rooms even 60 days in advance. Days that may be(I stress may be) available are weekdays and I cannot do weekdays unless kids are off school and I can arrange for my time off at work. So essentially its a hollow promise
Few insights based on this reality:(Hopefully this should help future customers to make right decisions)
Combine the reality of 2 with 1, there is no way you can get rooms in higher season.
Since you can avail rooms only in your season or less, if you are a WHITE customer like me. This membership is real WASTE. Below is the rationale.
a) For WHITE season customer, maybe about 30-40% of days in a year are available.
b) That too these days are in Off season. Major holiday season for kids like summer /winter/dasara/diwali/new year holidays are typically marked as RED or PURPLE so they are off limits
- In General, anytime of the year, there are no rooms available. Guess Club Mahindra has oversold the membership to the total number of rooms available.
(I Wish there was a government oversight body that brought in some order to this madness)
