Like many other unfortunate people across the country, I filled in a small form in a shopping mall in Mumbai, since the sales guy promised that I would win 2 free movie tickets, no strings attached. Started getting pestering telephone calls on my mobile a couple of days post that.
Basically, we were supposed to go to the Club Mahindra office in Raghuleela Mall, Kandivali West, and attend a 45 minute presentation. In return, we would get a 2N/3D free holiday voucher plus 2 movie tickets from Big Cinemas, and a 500 rupee gift voucher of Shoppers Stop.
Since we had some spare time on that particular Sunday, we went to attend the presentation. Won't say too much about the presentation, enough and more has already been written about their deals.
We got a bit suspicious when they refused to put any 'offer' on paper and did not allow us any time to go home and think about it also.
In fact, the more reluctance/doubt we showed, the more lucrative the offers kept on becoming. We finally put our foot down that we don't want to give any money on the spot, on which their manager "piyush' became extremely rude and just walked away in a huff.
The assistant gave us a coupon(no. 426774336) of Mahindra Holidays, which their website says is invalid. When we asked about the Big Cinema tickets and the Shopper's Stop voucher, the guy said they would be couriered and reach our house directly within one week.
That was on 2nd January, we are still to see anything.
Moral of the story: We were right in not committing any money there, else we would have kept running after these cheats for the next 25 years. Just stay away from these thieves.
