My wife got call from sales Executive of Club Mahendra (from Ansal Plaza, New Delhi) and he informed her that she had been selected for some special offer of Club Mahendra. We visited to their office at Ansal Plaza and met with one of Sales Sales Executive (at this stage I am not disclosing name) on June 7, 2013 (Friday). He informed us that Club Mahendra had launched some special offer wherein they had invited 3000 families and out of which they would be allotting said so called special membership (called Vacation Ownership) only to 180 families.
He took us through the entire presentation of one hour. We informed him that we are not interested in taking Club Mahendra Membership as one of my uncle had already faced issues with membership wherein he never got availability of room whenever he plans to take holiday. Therefore, he discontinued his membership.
To address our above mentioned concern he confirmed to us that as said 180 families are offered Vacation Ownership membership under special scheme of Club Mahendra and we will have reserved room and Club Mahendra will not have any right to refuse our booking. It was confirmed to us we will get confirmed booking not only in White Studio, but also in Red Studio (in case we move from White to Red), Blue Studio (in case we move from White to Blue) and also in RCI affiliated hotels. This was the only reason we were convinced for taking membership.
He told that this offer is only for today and he was not even willing to give us one day today to decide (normal marketing tactics in which we were also caught). Basis his confirmation about confirmed reservation, we took White Studio membership plan and made down payment of Rs. 25, 700 on the spot.
However, on 10th June we had detailed conversations with the centralized customer care and also with your Delhi head office at the contact nos. 39880000 and 46044700. We shockingly came to know from them that Club Mahendra had never launched such special scheme and our membership is normal membership wherein we have to book room within max 6 months and min 1 month advance. Even in this also my reservation would be subject to availability and Club Mahendra can refuse to my booking in case room is not available.
This is how Club Mahendra is cheating public. Considering the above faurd, we had applied for cancellation of membership on 12th June and refund of entire amount of Rs. 25, 700 paid as down payment.
Also, as we have made payment through the credit card, requested them to make the refund of entire amount at an earliest, otherwise due to their fraud we will end up in paying unnecessary late payment charges to Bank.
Since then have made 4-5 follow up calls to them but getting responses will revert shortly (sometime they are saying next 30 mins sometime next day). But still not luck.
Like other members struggling with refund of money from Club Mahendra which they have obtained from me by fraud.
Lesson Learned:
Whenever someone says offer is only for today, definitely there is some fraud and never hurry in closing such deals specially with Club Mahindra.
