I read the review of lot of members at mouthshut.com and it persuaded me also to express some hard feelings about club mahindra (cm).
Few days back i got a call from cm's executive and told that we have won 2n/3d's free stay. He asked me to come to their office in Chandigarh and told very precisely that come if you are a couple and if you have 40-45 minutes spare. Me and my wife went their by thinking that we have won something and should at least see what they are offering.
When we went their they welcomed us in a good room and asked to sit and then they started hypnotizing us. They showed their world class video of their resorts that seems to be 5 star. We in all 4-5 families were there. Then after the completion of video they started their speech (later i realize that speech seems to be a mesmerized one). First time when you hear that offer you think you have got something really astonishing (but this is not the fact). Now below are the offers they made to us.
1) 1st exciting offer: 32" Sony bravia lcd. They promise to give this lcd only if you pay 10% of the amount( rs 3'50'000) in advance + 2 months emi. That is too after 3 months from the day i signed in.
2) food vouchers worth rs. 4000. These vouchers i didnot see but some catch would have been there too. Like the vouchers you can avail this within this time period and all.
3) 7 international night stays which are affiliated with rci. But in this offer one catch was there, if you want to avail this offer first you have to take the membership fee of rci i.e. At very high price 17000 for 10 years + renewal fee of your membership with rci every 2 years. That amount they did not disclose to us.
Another catch was you have to pay one night charges if you want to avail 7 international night charges. And that was really pathetic because that cost was around rs. 15000 and that is too much as one can easily found some economical hotels if you are going somewhere outside india.
4) 7 domestic night stays in any of their resorts in india. Ok this is the offer they present to all.
5) another offer they were saying that they are giving only if you will book the offer right now within 10 minutes. The offer was additional 14 nights free stay in all over india. (but you have to pay 1 night charges for every 7 nights and that amount was not even less and was around 6000).
5) but in the end they asked us to make very strange confession that we have to submit 12 pdc's (post dated cheques ) for the remaining emi's. And here we got little worried that why this big organization want pdc's from us.
Later we came to know that this was their trap to be with cm always. Because once you give pdc you can not do anything. And the down payment you have made that will not be returned for sure after you give pdc's to them.
Why one should not go for this bullshit clubmahindra?
1) very expensive. For me(businessman) the cost of one night stay was coming around rs 10'000. As i have to pay 12.5% interest to the bank.
If we calculate the required amount it will be like this.
3'50'000(fee for 25 years) +
7500 maintenance cost for 25 years. That come around 25*7500 = 1'87'500 +
17000 rci fee for 10 years + renewal fee every 2 years. So the total lumsum amount comes around
5'54'500 and that is very high price to go and that too we have to pay in advance and and we cannot withdraw this scheme too later on.
2) not very useful as making trip in advance is not best suited for everyone because i read some reviews here and came to know that even if you are planning your trip 3 month advance then also its not a surity that you will get the rooms. So it is a big question that what is the use of paying such a whooping amount of 5.5 lacs in advance and you are not getting the rooms when you want to enjoy. Thanks to mouthshut for this.
3) and who knows what model lcd they are giving and it can be even an old version.
So its an appeal to all friends over here, please don't fall into this bullshit trap of club mahindra they are just fooling and misleading customers as they are very professional at this.
I registered on 27th march 2010 and i got the down payment on 28th march 2010. But if i have given those pdc's to them then my hard earned money would have been gone. Lucky me...friends be lucky and get away from this club mahindra.
