I have read many reviews of Club Mahindra members who are unhappy with their membership. They have been either conned or dazzled by a salesman who promised them the Moon and did not even deliver the Earth! One person even approached the consumer forum registering a complaint of cheating and managed to get some relief.
Is there a way out of this predicament? Yes, there is. I recently sold my Club Mahindra membership to someone from Kolhapur for Rs. 2, 25, 000. I had a PURPLE STUDIO membership which I bought in 2001. My membership was for 33 years which meant it would expire in 2034. These days the club gives you only a 25 year membership and they have discontinued PURPLE MEMBERSHIP. So PURPLE membership is in great demand. PURPLE members get bookings easily; hence you are able to understand why it is cherished!
Here is what you do. Go to enidhi. net and register your membership for sale. Their services are FREE . On the site you will find a list of people who have either registered their property for sale or are desirous of buying used Club Mahindra property. If you are lucky, you may find somebody who is looking for a property similar to yours. You could contact and negotiate a deal. Or you could wait for somebody to contact you which is sure to happen in a short while.
Once a deal is struck, you and your buyer could meet at a Club Mahindra Office (we did in Bangalore) with the following documents.
a) Your C.M . membership certificate.
b) Your C. M. membership card
c) Transferor’s certificate
d) Transferee’s willingness certificate to transfer.
e) A transfer fee of Rs. 1103 (may be slightly higher in some States)
You should have cleared all your dues of membership charges and A.S.F. Of course, the C.M. Office computers will have all the records; so that is no problem. Also don’t forget to surrender your RCI card for transfer to your buyer’s name as it is of no use to you once you sell your timeshare.
My buyer was lucky that he was getting a full membership of almost 25 years from me. He was happy and I was happy that I got the money that I had invested on it and had enjoyed 9 years of vacation privileges.
I had sold my membership not because I was unhappy with C.M. In fact I was very happy with them and have had very friendly and cordial relationship with them. My membership would expire in 2034 when I would be 88 years of age.
I could not be sure of my interest in travel in my 80s in 2020s and beyond. Hence the sale.
