I took Club Mahindra Membership two years back for red studio. In a way I am happy as it forces me to plan and avail my holidays at their well maintained resorts. No doubt is good but expensive(.for salaried folks unless you are above 1 lac take home per month bracket). Their resorts are in remote & beautiful locales and you end up spending(what ever you calculate as your savings if you were to stay as a non-member) on food bills. The rates are like five star hotels. Hospitality and ambiance is pretty good. I've stayed at Coorg, Goa and Yercaud so far.
Painpoint is the reservation part. You never get slots if you were to book through the web. Don't get disheartened. For the sametime period that you are looking call up the call center, you MIGHT be lucky to get. I am not sure how this works! Also it very evident that they have more members and less number of resorts/rooms to use.
RCI affiliation for the first 3 years is extremely good ONLY if you take international holidays .You can re-coup the Club Mahindra investment only if take international holidays. The other Indian resorts offered are pathetic compared Club Mahindra resorts. Read the terms and conditions correctly for booking and cancellation. You need to surrender your holidays with the home resort much ahead to book and avail it.
Dont get misled by the sales reps who promise a lot and persuasive with constant follow ups if you ever land up talking to them. Be clear about what this entails (COSTLY affair) and sign up for it
