This is my first holiday experience with Club Mahindra Resorts after becoming a member in 2012. During the first week of Jan 2013, I received an SMS informing me about some holiday offers available at Ooty, Coorg, etc. When I contacted their helpline I was informed that resorts were available for booking during the month of Jan and Feb ( They are classified as Red Season but as part of the offer, I was able to holiday during this season.)
We went to Ooty during the 3 Week of Jan, The people from the resort had called me on the previous day to confirm my time of arrival, so that they can keep the rooms ready.
We reached the resort around 1 Pm, and were welcomed with a hot and refreshing lemon tea at the reception.
The people at the front desk were very helpful and completed the checking formalities within 10 minutes, we were given 2 adjacent room overlooking the race course. The front desk executive took us to the rooms and familiarized us with the rooms and facilities available.
Pros :
The resort itself is situated at an excellent location in the center of the town overlooking the Ooty Race Course. The rooms were Neat and Clean and had a small kitchen as well. The rooms were equipped with room heaters - which becomes a necessity during the winter season.
We found the resort an excellent place to relax and spend some peaceful time amidst nature and a beautiful weather.
The resort had arranged a Bollywood night program on Saturday night, and we could hear the DJ playing some good Bollywood numbers and the a small crowd who had gathered around the campfire were enjoying it.
We were really happy at the way the Staff at the resort interacted with us and responded to our queries.
The food at the restaurant was tasty and in room dining facility was good.
Cons :
We felt there was a need to improve on the Restaurant services - We found that there was no buffet available during lunch and their Ala Carte rates were very high when compared to other hotels / resorts.
A little more training to the Restaurant staff in terms of maintaining the cleanliness and serving the food would really do good for the resort.
