Worst Gyno- Brunda Chanappa (Jayanagar)

Staff Attitude:

Just like all parents, we also wanted our little one to be born in the best hospital under the best doctor. After a lot of research we chose cloud 9 and I must say that our first visit to the hospital was really impressive(Jayanagar branch). Soumya was the one who co-ordinated from the front office. The hospital is built like a star hotel with all the luxury seatings and sophisticatedly appearing ambience. We then decided to consult Dr. Brunda Chanappa(again, after a lot of research) and our first visit was quite smooth(and short as well).

From our second visit we started slowly realizing that we made a big mistake in terms of the hospital and the Doctor.

We took an appointment for the second visit and we were 15 minutes early at the hospital. We dont know why we were made to wait for an hour even though we had an appointment(we weren't bored as me and my wife spent time talking). After an hour long wait, and and hour long travel we finally met Brunda and all she did was to look at the file and prescribe some tablets. She never spoke/advised us anything. It was very quick and we were out in less than 3 minutes. I was a little disappointed with this behaviour but it dint bother me much and we just ignored it.

The same thing happened even on the second consultation and my wife's sugar levels were a little high and all she did was to scold us like school kids. I was like "WTF"? We again kept quite and ignored.

During the 4 month my wife had heavy bleeding which happened in the night and we were really worried. We were at my wife's home town at this time and called up the hospital and they asked us to meet the doc in the morning. We drove all the way from there and we were a little late in arriving. Luckily Brunda was still available and we waited for our turn. We were asked to take a scan before we met her and to our surprise she left before we met her(since we were waiting for scan report). I was totally pissed off and when spoke at the reception they asked me to meet the shift doctor(since it was a sunday and no doc was available). We met the duty doc and she called up brunda and brunda advised some tablets. We left with disappointment as that was not thing we expected.

Finally a funny/ridiculous thing happened after 2 weeks. My wife wasnt keeping well(cough and cold) and she went to hospital directly from her office. Which ofcourse means she did not have her file/reports. She waited over an hour to meet brunda and when she met her and told that she was not well, the first thing brunda asked was "Are you carrying"?. Hello, dont you remember your patients? then how are you gonna treat them? Just by looking at their files and reports? Is this is what we get for choosing your hospital?. Finally brunda prescribes a simple tablet for which my wife paid a consulting fee of 350-400.

We then decided to discontinue from this worst hospital and an attitude throwing doctor.

Few more key things to add:

Getting an appointment itself is a challenge(coz its always over crowded)

The consulting doctor would not share their phone numbers. Incase of any emergency or a general query you need to call the hospital helpdesk, who ofcourse have no clue of who you are. Or you are forced to come to hospital for even a small doubt you have.

Every consultation, no matter how big or small you need to pay the consulting fee. Even if you have a simple doubt.(trust me, you would get a lot of doubts during your pregnancy and you always want to be guided).

Hospital has packages for delivery?(is it a holiday)

Your consulting doctor will not be the one operating on you while delivery. It will all be junior doctors. Your doctor finally arrives with a big smile to congratulate you.

For a C-sec you always need to take atleast 3-4 days of bed rest. However, the hospital throws you out after 2 days. Since it is over crowded and you need to vacate.

The doctors, staff and everyone at the hospital have a very high level of attitute and they have forgotten they belong to a service industry.

Parking in the Jayanagar hospital is a joke. You need to rome around the streets to park your car.

Rest assured-

You will have a hi-fi hospital when the visitors come to see your baby.

The blue/pink concept impresses you more than the hospitality.

You will have a Photographer clicking your wife's and baby pics not bothering the pain your wife is going through.

Your bills will surely shoot up, wooping off your savings.

On the other hand, we consulted Dr. Sangeeta Gomes and my wife delivered at St.Philomenas and she had a C-sec. We had a smooth period and she was at the hospital for 5 full days. Including the baby's phototheraphy our bills came upto 80k.
