The Cradle experience was distressing in many ways.
My wife and I had decided that we will go to the best hospital for the birth of our first child. We were suggested'The Cradle' by a colleague, who praised it high standards. However, the only thing high about The Cradle is the HIGH MEDICAL BILLS!
My wife was admitted at around 9 a.m. having dilated about 2cms. We were taken to the Suite, which we had booked in advance. While the rooms were impressive, it was the lack of coordination that was appalling.
It so happened that the dietician was on leave that particular day. How unfortunate, considering that The Cradle had only ONE dietician. I wonder why!
The doctor recommended a light lunch, before the Epidural scheduled at 3 p.m. Well, the catering department conveniently decided light lunch= NO lunch. Hence, my wife was on liquids throughout labor, until she finally delivered a baby girl at 8:27 p.m.
She was so tired towards the end of labor, that the doctor wrily mentioned that a c-section may be the only option. But my wife is a fighter, and hence was able to push the baby out, forceps assisted. OH, BTW THE AIR-CONDITIONER WAS NOT FUNCTIONING IN THE LABOR ROOM!
The use of forceps resulted in a tear till the rectum, requiring an episiotomy. Later, a doctor-firend told us that the third-degree tear was a result of the doctor's incompetence, and the lack of nutrition during the day.
Another ordeal started post-delivery. The hot water faucet was not working in the bathroom. So, here was my wife completely sapped out, waiting to be bathed. Finally, she was bathed and made to wait in the labor room till mid-night, while the nurse on duty was filling up(rather FABRICATING) her notes. We kept asking her, 'Can your notes not wait until my wife is taken to the room for dinner?'
My wife has dinner and goes to sleep. She wakes up at 4 a.m, very hungry. I ask the nurse on duty if she can arrange for something to eat. She says the cafeteria only opens at 6:30 a.m. So, here we are at, what is supposedly'MODERN INDIA'S GREATEST DEDICATION TO A MOTHER', eating Tiger bisuits.
Finally, breakfast does arrive.at 11 a.m.
The tragic drama continues to unfold. Regular juice/soup is skipped, till we raise the issue at 5p.m.(IN response to our complaint, DR.KISHORE published the cafeteria's FABRICATED records, saying all the items were served on time, essentially saying'DEAR CUSTOMER, YOU ARE A LIAR, AND NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR MONEY, I CARE A DAMN!).
Finally, that night, the Guest Relations Executive stocks up our room with Soup, Juice and Snacks. So, why was this not done on the night of delivery?

DR.KISHORE AND THE CRADLE(NOW CLOUD NINE) ARE MODERN INDIA'S REPLY TO CHARLES PONZI. THERE IS NO FRAUD HERE, JUST THAT THEY SOMEWHERE BELIEVE THAT HAVING A FANCY BRAND IS ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF THE MOTHER AND CHILD. THAT ALL THE PEOPLE AT CRADLE CAN WORK AS ISLANDS, AND BE AUDACIOUS IDIOTS, WHEN COMPLAINED AGAINST!
