Man behind the Camera is important

When I refer to Man, I mean Woman also, or the other way ? Because the word 'Woman' includes the word 'Man'. Whatever it is, a Camera is just an instrument, to be operated with understanding. In fixed-focus Box and Compact Cameras, you just aim and shoot, taking care to keep the subject at the minimum viewing distance. But, in adjustable Cameras, there are a lot of controls like aperture, shutter speed, focussing distance etc. It is the aperture which determines the depth of field, which means within a range the image remains in focus. Experts say that in Single Lens Reflex Cameras, when the Shutter is pressed, the mirror returns, and this is enough to introduce a shake when the picture is taken with a slow shutter speed. You have to take care to see that the flash connection is made at the proper socket, and appropriate shutter speed is used. Always keep the Instruction Manual of the Camera with you for easy reference. There is a saying that a Camera with an Ever-Ready Case is really never ready. Once while flying from Rome to Geneva, I was charmed with the Sunrise in the sky. By the time I opened the Ever-Ready Case and tried to focus the Camera at infinity through the window of my Plane, the scene had remained behind. Always keep your Camera clean and dust-free. Keep the Camera and extra lenses, if any, in an airtight box with Silica Gel crystals. If your Camera is not an automatic one, go in for a good Exposure Meter, Weston V (British), Sekonic (Japanese) or Gossen Lunasix 3 (German). I find the Gossen to be more accurate in taking incident and reflected light readings. I have been using my Gossen Lunasix for the last 45 years. Only I had to change the battery once. Weston V does not need a Battery. Now-a-days good Camera Bags are available to carry your Camera Body and the Lenses. Put some Silica Gel crystals in the Bag. Once a month you must click your Shutter to avoid jamming. That's all now. If you take care of your Camera, it will take care of you. As simple as that.
